About Me
There is second part of the student’s profile under the tab About Me (Optional with access control) in addition to the Basic Profile tab.
As the heading has highlighted, the tabbed page is for the student to give a brief introduction about him/her but it is optional. The student can leave them blank or allow access to his/her group members, connections or himself/herself. This is because there is a field that allows the student to assign access control as display below:
The four fields under this tab are:
- Student’s Country
- Something About Me
- Why this Course
- Social Network Profiles
The fields are explanatory and there are some descriptive texts to aid the student.
In the case of Social Network Profiles, the student’s profile page will show the icons if he/she inputs such account info. For example, Jessica inputs her Instagram and Twitter account information and others can click on the icons to go her social media accounts. Jessica’s example is shown below:
Member Search
On your profile page, there are two sidebars where are “My Connections” and “Members”. These sidebars allow you to view who are “Newest”, “Active” and “Popular” with regard to the student’s connections and all members enrolled in the particular course. There is a More option at the bottom of the “Members” and you can click it to expand it to view all and below is an example from Jessica’s Profile page:
Below is the Members screen. Notice that there is a search screen on the right and the student can use a keyword or a keyword string as a criterion to search for the member’s profile information that meets the criteria.
